<image:caption>Many of my clients decide to seek therapy after months or even years of silently struggling. So first, I want to say that if you are considering therapy, you are incredibly brave. It takes great courage to believe that there is more to life than what has become the status-quo, and to decide to pursue those possibilities. I believe that the resiliency you need to get through this challenging time is already there.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Hello, I’m Kelsey</image:title>
<image:caption>I am here to tell you that it doesn’t have to feel this way. Things can be better. This life is too short to let your most important relationships slip away, to allow bad experiences of the past to control the present, and for anxiety to hold your thoughts captive. I would be honored to support you as you step toward your goals of reconnecting in those relationships, re-establishing a life that is grounded in what you truly value, and feeling a sense of faith, hope, and purpose again. The decision to begin the process of therapy is a courageous step.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - My Approach</image:title>
<image:caption>As a Christian and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I recognize that we are designed for relationships. Connection to others is an essential component of a life well-lived. With my background and training in Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy and Attachment Science, I work with couples (including pre-marital couples) to restore trust, connection, emotional intimacy, healthy communication, and a sense of security in the relationship. I am also a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator for couples. In my 17 years as a therapist, I have developed particular expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders and body image issues. I know how these concerns can negatively impact your relationship with yourself and others, and can work with you to help you view yourself and your relationship with food in a more positive way. As a trauma-informed clinician, I recognize that traumatic past experiences can continue to negatively influence how we operate in life and relationships. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based treatment for trauma. I use this approach with my clients to help them become “unstuck” from patterns rooted in past traumatic experiences so that they can re-engage in their life and relationships more effectively in the present.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - My Focus</image:title>
<image:caption>To put it simply, my focus is on restoration. My clients often come to therapy struggling with disconnected or fractured relationships, whether with others or themselves. I work with clients to restore connection with others as well as themselves, repair longstanding emotional wounds, and help them restructure their lives so that conditions are right for thriving. Just as a plant cannot grow without certain conditions (good soil, strong roots, sunlight, water, etc.), people too need proper conditions for growth. Connection, meaningful relationships, a sense of faith and purpose, interest and engagement are just a few of these growth conditions. I focus on supporting you in identifying your growth conditions and exploring ways to implement them in your life and relationships.</image:caption>

Kelsey is passionate about the integration of faith in the therapy process and the role of the family in growth and change. Kelsey believes that therapy should serve clients in the goals they wish to work toward. She uses an integrative approach including Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to support couples and individuals in achieving their goals, gaining a deeper understanding of their emotional patterns, building healthy relationships, and developing an increased awareness and communication of emotional needs. She values evidence-based practices to give her clients optimal results, and has completed advanced trainings and externships in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. In her work with families, Kelsey takes a Structural Family Therapy approach to assist families in clearly defining boundaries and building effective communication. She also incorporates Emotionally Focused Family Therapy to assist family members in deepening their understanding and appreciation of one another, and to heal their relationships from past hurts and misunderstandings. Kelsey is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for individuals experiencing post-traumatic stress. In her work with couples, Kelsey is able to provide couple assessments as a Certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator.
